St. Mary's School held a vibrant Rajyotsava cultural programme on November 1 Karnataka Rajyotsava Day was marked by a Flag Hoisting ceremony led by Mr. Maxim Dsouza, the PTA Vice President accompanied by the school band, the Headmistress Sr. Maisie, and PTA representatives. Following the Flag hoisting, a prayer service was led by Class 7A students, with Keertana, Zameer, and Aaradhya emphasizing the significance of the day.
The entire programme was conducted in Kannada by classes 7A and 2A, showcasing a deep respect for Karnataka's language and heritage. Mr. Maxim Dsouza, Vice President of the PTA, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
The programme opened with a meaningful prayer service focused on the theme of Peace, drawing on sacred books such as the Bible, Quran, and Bhagavad Gita. Sarah and Fathima Thasna of class 7A gave a warm welcome and introduced the Chief Guest to the audience. The cultural programme that followed was a tribute to the rich history, leaders, and traditions of Karnataka, allowing students to celebrate their cultural roots.
Mr. Maxim Dsouza addressed the audience, delivered an inspiring message on Kannada Nadu's cultural legacy, encouraging students to uphold their heritage.
The whole ceremony was compered by Rimsha and Nishan of Class 7B and Sasha and Anushka of class 7A
The ceremony ended with a Vote of Thanks by Yajna Kotian of Class 7B, and Nisha, Anam, and Maleeha from class 2A. and a spirited rendition of 'Jaya Hai Karnataka Maathe' by a group of singers from Class 7B, ending with the National Anthem.
The celebrations were a memorable tribute to Karnataka's culture, instilling pride and awareness in one and all.
