St Mary's English Higher Primary School celebrated it's much-awaited Annual Sports day on January 21, 2025 on the school ground with great enthusiasm and vigour, marking a day filled with spiritual competition cheers and exceptional sportsmanship.
The school was honoured to welcome Ms. Jess Deepa Noronha, an esteemed ex - student of St Mary's, as the Chief guest for the occasion with magnificent School band along with Sr. Marie Lucy, Administrator of St Mary's PU College, Sr. Maisie the Headmistress, Mr. Antony Maxim D'Souza the PTA Vice President.
The event began with a vibrant March Past by the students of class 4 to 7, showcasing discipline and unity. The Chief guest Ms. Jess Noronha, inaugurated the programme by hoisting the sports flag and declaring the sports meet open by releasing a pair of Doves.
School athletes Ankush Attavar, carried the sports torch followed by the student representatives Amrith D’Souza, Hammabba Isham, Muhammad Zameer, Ibrahim Ali Fardhan and passed it on to the chief guest and placed it on its stand. The oath was taken by all the students.
The Chief Guest addressed the gathering, reminiscing about her school days and inspiring students to excel in both academics and sports.
The students participated with zeal and showcased their athletic prowess, team spirit and determination. The finals of the running race 50m and 100 m were held. The relay finals were conducted. The winners were awarded medals and certificates in a prize distribution ceremony.
Mohammad Wahab of class 7 welcomed and introduced the chief guest of the event. The vote of thanks was given by Azwa Parveen of class 6. Tr. Sweeta compered the entire programme and Tr. Veera gave the commentary of the March past.
The flag was lowered at 3:00pm and thus the Sports Meet came to an end.
