The Carmelite orders Patroness the Blessed Virgin Mary, known as “Our Lady of Mt. Carmel” was honoured in St. Mary’s English Higher Primary School with great devotion and fervour. The festivities had started with a prior thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration officiated by Rev. Fr. Ivan D’Souza from St. Joseph’s Seminary, Jeppu, Mangaluru.
Sr. Maisie the headmistress graced the event. The event began by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer service.The event was hosted by class 3rd B and 7th B students, compered by Miss Olga and Master Ansh of class 7th B. Students highlighted the virtues of Mother Mary Humility, Faith, Obedience, Prayer, Mortification, Purity, Charity, Patience and Wisdom. Miss Hajira welcomed the Headmistress and the gathering followed by a welcome dance. A meaningful cultural programme on Mount Carmel Feast was performed by the students.
Sr. Maisie the headmistress spoke about the significance of the feast and told that Mary our beloved heavenly mother teaches us by her example how to live a life of deep faith, humility and surrender to God’s will. Headmistress appreciated the students for performing the wonderful programme on this auspicious day. Miss Shiza proposed the Vote of thanks. The School Anthem was sung at the end of the programme.
